HEIUKI Franchise: White-Label Rental Automats for SUP & Kayak
From concept to live operation: HEIUKI uses TIKI SHARE technology for a franchise network of outdoor rental automats across DACH.
Situation: Why Classic Rentals Don't Scale
Classic water sports rental is staff-heavy: fixed shifts drive wage costs and turnover, while early mornings and long summer evenings go unused without staff.
Add weather dependency – staff planning collapses with the forecast, costs run during rain, hands are missing during sun. Many attractive waterside spots also offer neither power supply nor secure storage.
- High staffing costs from fixed shifts
- Limited opening hours without staff
- Weather-dependent, hard-to-plan utilization
- Sites without power or storage infrastructure
Solution: Fully Automated, Off-Grid Rental
Guests book their time slot via a web app and pay cashless, without an app download. The digital code opens exactly the compartment with the booked equipment at the machine. After use, everything simply goes back.
The machines come in Size S (up to 7 SUPs) and Size M (up to 14 SUPs), solar- and battery-powered, needing no grid connection and no intervention in nature.
Rollout: Franchise, White-Label and Location Partnership
Together with partner aufgabengut, a Europe-wide network was built with three partner models: HEIUKI franchise (operating under the established brand, with TIKI SHARE handling IT, support and marketing), white-label licence (full independence under your own brand, already live in Switzerland and Belgium), and location partnership (revenue share for the site owner).
The HEIUKI machines sit at the root of TIKI SHARE – they were the company's starting point in 2021.
Result: Deployed Across Europe, Minimal Maintenance
Operation runs 100% staff-free, with no shift planning and no turnover. Availability spans 6 AM to 9 PM, with just 1–2 hours of maintenance per month.
The machines are now deployed across 7 countries in Europe – and growing.
